Dr. Ryll Lab GmbH was founded in Berlin in 2017. As early as 2018 the company was appointed a state-approved testing centre for gas measuring instruments. This qualifies Dr. Ryll Lab GmbH to verify gas measuring instruments and to officially certify test gases. In 2020 Dr. Ryll Lab GmbH-Österreich was founded in Tulln, which is mainly responsible for business in Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
The company's core competences lie in manufacturer-independent maintenance, in the planning and construction of analytical measurement technology and gas quality measurement systems, in gas analytics and in technical project consulting. We operate one of the most advanced laboratories in Europe for the analysis of hydrogen quality.
As the first company on the market, our mobile laboratory enables us to measure hydrogen quality in real time directly on site in accordance with ISO 14687, SAE J2719 or DIN EN 17124.
To meet the constantly changing demands of the market, we are involved in a range of research and development projects. Besides the successfully completed development of a mobile testing laboratory for hydrogen quality, we are developing production plants for the manufacture of hydrogen – for example from natural gas or ammonia – and for the production of e-fuels based on microwave plasmalysis. Future activities in this field are being brought together in H2Plas GmbH, founded in 2021.
Hydrogen, particularly for use in hydrogen mobility, is subject to very high quality standards. Alongside the 5.0 quality defined in the industrial gas sector, standards and guidelines such as ISO 14687, SAE J2719 and DIN EN 17124 apply. In the cooperation between producers and offtakers, a clear quality standard is the basis for billing, but also for product liability. Seamless quality assurance along the entire value chain can protect against unwelcome surprises and high consequential costs.
In our laboratory, equipped with state-of-the-art measurement technology, we determine various trace components in hydrogen (for example in accordance with DIN EN 17124), natural gas and biogas, synthetic gases (SNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG). If required, our service team provides you with a sampling kit and a transport box and handles dispatch and collection for you. On request we also carry out the sampling directly on site. Using test chambers we developed ourselves, we can assess analytically to what extent materials emit unwanted components such as sulphur compounds while temperature and pressure conditions are varied.
Learn more…Our skilled and experienced team covers a broad spectrum of service and maintenance work on analytical measurement technology and gas quality measurement systems. Besides repairs, overhauls, replacement of parts and the calibration and adjustment of process gas chromatographs, this also includes a fault clearance service with an associated on-call service. As a state-approved testing centre for gas measuring instruments, we are also glad to carry out the verification and calibration of measuring systems on site. As the only company on the market, we can therefore offer you the complete worry-free package.
Learn more…Drawing on our many years of experience in the gas industry, we support you in the design, planning and construction of gas quality monitoring systems. Together we define the parameters suited to monitoring your processes, assemble the appropriate measurement technology and install it at your site. As a manufacturer-independent company, we can work with our customers to develop the best possible analytical process monitoring solution, taking quality as well as investment and operating costs into account.
Learn more…As a state-approved testing centre for gas measuring instruments in Germany, we certify a broad spectrum of test and calibration gas mixtures for our customers. We also maintain state-approved testing centres in the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Hamburg, Bremen, Thuringia, Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony and Bavaria, where we hold authorisations for the verification and calibration of gas quality and calorific value measuring instruments for gas, as well as for the verification and calibration of ancillary devices for gas measuring instruments.
Learn more…The wide-ranging changes in the gas market present network operators with new challenges. One consequence of this development is that gas quality will be subject to far greater fluctuation within the permissible limits of the DVGW code of practice. So that operators can respond flexibly to fluctuating gas quality in the network, Dr. Ryll Lab GmbH provides, among other things, a mobile and cost-effective gas quality measurement system equipped with verified gas measurement technology for hire, for validating results (REKO and SmartSim methods).

H2Plas GmbH was founded in June 2021 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr. Ryll Lab GmbH. H2Plas GmbH develops plants for the production of hydrogen, carbon, synthesis gas (e-fuels) and acetylene from carbon-containing feedstocks (for example natural gas or biomethane) using microwave plasma technologies. Since the energy efficiency of hydrogen production is, for physical and chemical reasons, around eight times more favourable than with electrolysis, microwave plasma technology offers itself as a further process for hydrogen production.
Learn more…Our satisfied customer base includes network companies, municipal utilities and companies from the hydrogen industry. We would be delighted to welcome you as one of our customers in future.
